We worked on a bass flute crutch that would be as flexible as possible, allowing for the most user-specific needs.
We wanted to allow players to adapt (1) the position where the rest is applied, (2) the rotation of the support, (3) the distance from the instrument (height of the rest), and (4) the shape of the rest. To achieve this, we designed the rest as a 3 part construction, featuring:
- A base element attached to the tube of the instrument via an adhesive
- An ergonomic part that fits perfectly into the hand and feels very natural
- A spacer to increase distance of the hand to the instruments tube
Base Element
The base element is attached to the bass flute with a double sided adhesive and works as a permanent hook for the rest.
Spacer & Handle
An additional spacer can be snapped on the ergonomic handle to increase the distance of the hand from the tube.
