Stabilizers are a great way to establish accurate and reliable padding in flute keys by creating a flat base for the pad inside the key cup. The domed cup shape of most keys can lead to distortion of the pad and cause issues with pad coverage.
Our stabilizers are intended to be glued in prior to installing a flute pad. We recommend gluing them in with our slow-cure epoxy. Apply a small dab on 4 points of the stabilizer bottom (profiled side) with a toothpick. Place the stabilizer into the cup. Using a swab, apply a twisting motion to distribute the glue. Clean any excess glue with a fresh swab. Set the key aside to allow the glue to cure before handling further.
