ALTO AND BASS FLUTES
|
The harmony flutes are fun! Whether it's a new solo voice you're pursuing or an opportunity to play in a flute choir, owning an alto and bass brings additional pleasure from playing in a variety of ways.
The construction of harmony flutes varies quite a lot more than with soprano flutes. Certainly the headjoint construction is a factor (most notably curved or straight styles) but so is the keywork itself. Models can show large differences in the:
1. Distance of the left hand to the face. 2. The distance between the hands. 3. The facility of the footjoint and the reach to the footjoint keys.
As you might imagine you will experience a different sense of balance and extension of your reach with each design. Beyond the musical attributes of a certain model, you'll want to look closely at ergonomics as well.
