Gold Grip Drivers & Blades

At J.L. Smith we love great tools. In fact, it would be fair to say we’re hard-core tool geeks. Great tools make all the difference to the ease, speed and quality of the work we do and with woodwind repair the importance of having great drivers cannot be overstated.

We designed and built the all-purpose Gold Grip Drivers and interchangeable blades with professionals in mind: the lightweight handles (large 1/2" diameter, and small 3/8" diameter) are ergonomically designed for comfort in the hand and cross-milled for a positive grip with a light touch. All of our tool-steel blades are carefully machined to strict tolerances and hardened, and our flathead blades are compound cut for more exact contact with screw heads.

We’re extremely proud to be able to say that we build these exceptional drivers and blades ourselves in our own shop, right here in America. No detail has been overlooked and that includes the way they look because at J.L. Smith we think great tools should be as beautiful to look at as they are to work with.
